A McComb woman died in a two-vehicle traffic accident Saturday morning on Presley Boulevard.
Felisha Johnson, 31, of 324 McComb St., died after her 2004 Honda Accord was struck by a Peterbilt semi in the westbound lanes of Presley Boulevard near Bendat Street.
According to police reports, the driver of the truck, John Bass of St. Joseph, Louisiana, braked but was unable to avoid a collision with Johnson’s car, which apparently pulled out in front of the truck.
Police received the call at 7:42 a.m.
McComb Police Lt. Sean Gill said Johnson was pulling out of the former Bert’s Deli parking lot and her vehicle was facing southbound when it was struck by Bass’ trailer-less 2006 Peterbilt cab.
There were no other occupants, and Bass reported no injuries.
Gill said Johnson’s car sustained heavy damage on the driver’s side of the car.
The McComb Fire Department used the Jaws of Life to remove Johnson from her vehicle.
Pike County Coroner Percy Pittman pronounced Johnson dead at the scene.
Gill said charges are unlikely.
