A 20-year-old man is being held in the Pike County jail for allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl.
Lakevion Hughes, 2134 Highway 48 East, Magnolia, met the girl on social media.
After talking online, the two decided to meet at St. Martin Apartments, 1185 Berthadale Road, where the girl lived, said Pike County Sheriff’s Department chief investigator Chris Bell.
“Looks like the 13-year-old ended up letting Hughes enter through her bedroom window,” Bell said.
Deputies were notified and when they arrived on scene, they found Hughes, who allegedly admitted to engaging in inappropriate sexual acts with the 13-year-old. He is charged with sexual battery on a person under the age of 16.
“Anybody under the age of 16 cannot consent,” Bell said.
No bond has been set.
