A Magnolia man died in a house fire early Saturday morning, officials said.
Shajaski Jerome Collins, 26, was found dead at the scene in the house at 190 Fortenberry Ave., according to Pike County Coroner Percy Pittman.
The Magnolia Volunteer Fire Department got a call at 12:50 a.m., said deputy fire chief Burnis Bowman.
Firemen found the house fully involved when they arrived. Sunnyhill and Fernwood volunteer fire departments joined in the effort. Officials cleared the scene at 4:30 a.m.
The cause is under investigation, Bowman said.
“It’s undetermined awaiting results from the coroner and the fire marshal,” Bowman said.
The brick house was owned by Darrell Pounds Jr., who was not home at the time. No one else was home.
The fire also destroyed a Ford Explorer, riding lawn mower and zero-turn lawnmower.
