LIBERTY — Features of this year’s Heritage Days festival will range from a Battle of the Choirs to Power Slam Wrestling, with a performance by Skylar Laine of “American Idol” in-between.
The annual festival will take place Friday evening and all day Saturday in front of Town Hall and in the Air Cruisers parking lot.
The opening ceremony will be 5:45 p.m. Friday, followed by a gospel music concert from 6 to 9. Arts and crafts and food vendors will be in place from 5 to 9.
Saturday kicks off with a pancake breakfast and foot races. Features of the day include a car show, chainsaw exhibitions and singing by Laine, a Brandon resident who placed fifth in the 11th season of “American Idol.”

Friday
• 6-9 p.m., Battle of the Choirs gospel singing at Town Hall, 160 Clinic Drive.
• 5-9:00 p.m., arts, crafts and food vendors in the Air Cruisers parking lot.
Saturday
• 6:30-7:15 a.m., fun run/5K run at Town Hall.
• 7:30 a.m., 1-mile walk/run at Town Hall.
• 8 a.m., 5K walk/run at Town Hall.
• 6-10 a.m., pancake breakfast, Liberty Fire Department.
• 8 a.m.-6 p.m., vendors in the Air Cruisers parking lot.
• 8 a.m.-3 p.m., Veterans Administration bus and Amite Medical Services, Town Hall.
• 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Space walk, jousting ring, and more, Air Cruisers parking lot.
• 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., music by DJ Joey Johnson, Town Hall.
• 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Sawdust & Splinters exhibition, Town Hall.
• 10 a.m.-2 p.m., open car show, Air Cruisers parking lot.
• 11 a.m.-1 p.m., political rally for local and state candidates, Town Hall.
• 11 a.m.-4 p.m., mechanical bull, Town Hall.
• 1-2 p.m., music by Lynn Brossett, Town Hall.
• 4-6 p.m., music by Skylar Laine, Town Hall.
