Pike County sheriff’s officials are looking for a man they suspect committed a July 4 convenience store robbery in Summit.
Chief investigator Greg Martin said Joshua Joseph, 19, 1107 Sherman Road, Magnolia, is one of three men officials believe held up the Exxon on Highway 98 West.
An employee told deputies that three black males ran inside the store at 2:55 a.m. after a customer left, approached the counter and pointed a black revolver at her face.
One of the men reportedly commanded the clerk to “open the drawer before I shoot you in the face” as the other two went behind the counter.
The clerk told deputies she couldn’t get the drawer open fast enough, and the robbers became irate. Once she got the drawer open, they took the entire till and ran out the door.
The employee said she saw the men running through an open field east of the building after the heist. She then saw a car speed away from Sharkey Funeral Home just north of the store.
Any with information about Joseph’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Pike County Sheriff’s Department at 783-6767 or Crimestoppers at 684-0033.
