The Pike County Sheriff’s Department trying to find a man accused of beating his wife with a baseball bat because he said she wouldn’t clean and cook.
Investigators are seeking Tramarcus Walker, 28, 2127 Terry’s Creek Road, Magnolia, after his wife accused him of beating her about the head with a baseball bat, Pike County Chief Investigator Chris Bell said.
Lashanda Walker told deputies Friday morning that she was asleep at her home with her two small children when her husband entered the home and became upset.
She said her husband wanted her to get up and clean the house and cook. When she didn’t do what he asked, she said he beat her repeatedly in head with a bat.
Bell said Tramarcus Walker left with the bat before deputies arrived.
He said lawmen tried to make contact with the husband, but he wouldn’t talk to them.
He said when Walker is located, he will be charged with aggravated assault-domestic violence.
This isn’t the first time that deputies have been called to the home.
Bell said deputies went there on July 4 and 5 after an incident between the couple when Tramarcus Walker allegedly took a television and an air conditioning unit from the house.
Walker told deputies she thought her husband was gone for good until he returned on the morning of the 14th and allegedly assaulted her.
Anyone with information on Walker’s whereabouts should call the Pike County Sheriff’s Department at 601-783-6767.
