A two-vehicle wreck involving a log truck and a car took the lives of both drivers Wednesday.
Terry A. Blackstock, 47, of Osyka and James E. Montgomery, 20, of Gloster died in an accident that occurred at 10:39 a.m. on Highway 33 about one mile south of Bryant Lane just south of Centreville, Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Brandon Fortenberry.
There were no other passengers in the vehicles.
Blackstock was driving a loaded southbound 2015 Western Star log truck.
Fortenberry said Montgomery’s northbound 2013 Chevrolet Impala crossed the center line and struck logtruck head on.
The truck came to rest just west of the highway and the Impala came to stop on the east side of the highway, Fortenberry said.
Wilkinson County Coroner Travis Sharp pronounced both men dead on scene.
The Amite County Sheriff’s Department assisted the Mississippi Highway Patrol with traffic enforcement after the accident.
