GLOSTER Aldermen Tuesday agreed to send letters toproperty owners instructing them to clean up the Arthur Castonproperty on West Railroad Avenue and a lot on West Main Streetwhose owner was not immediately known.
Aldermen also asked town clerk Monzella Tickles to call Cook'sFuneral Home owners and ask them to take action to halt loiteringthat's taking place outside their business.
In other business, aldermen:
Passed a resolution honoring the Amite School Centersoftball team and the Amite County High School track team fortheir recent championships.
Met with Amite County District 3 supervisor candidateJerry Norwood.
Voted to rezone the Nolan McClain property on Pearlfrom commercial to residential. No business was ever establishedon the vacant lot.
Recessed until 5:30 p.m. June 17, when they will receivebids for the town sewer project.
Approved travel for town judge Roger Arnold to a three-dayjudges' seminar at Biloxi this month, and town superintendentGary Sterling to a three-day natural gas conference at OrangeBeach, Ala., in July.
Changed the July meeting day from July 1 to July 8 sincealdermen will be at a convention on the 1st. The meeting timeis 5:30 p.m. at town hall.
