Agents with the Southwest Mississippi Narcotics Enforcement Unit made recent drug arrests in three cases — ranging from possession and sale of synthetic marijuana to sale of crack cocaine.
Agents arrested Shive Ohri, 24, and Manjyot Singh, 24, both of 601 Virginia Ave. in McComb, on charges involving synthetic marijuana.
Ohri was charged with selling synthetic marijuana at the Shell station in Magnolia around 12:45 p.m. Friday.
SMNEU commander Tim Vanderslice said agents discovered $12,907 in cash and 1,500 grams of synthetic marijuana from 14 brands spread over 500 packages after conducting a search warrant.
Ohri and Singh are charged with possession of synthetic marijuana with intent to distribute. Ohri remained in the Pike County jail today on $40,000 bond. Singh posted $40,000 bond to be released on Monday.
Officials said other arrests may be made in the case.
In an unrelated drug case, SMNEU agents arrested a McComb couple Sunday morning on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Agents arrested Myesha Tuasha Johnson, 24, and Exzavious Lamont Garner, 27, both of 120 Gillis Circle, Apt. 8B, around 2 a.m.
Vanderslice said agents found $843 and more than 31 grams — the state minimum for a possession with intent charge — between them.
Agents arrested the couple at the apartment, and both were transported to the Pike County jail. Each posted $10,000 to be released on Monday.
In a third SMNEU case, agents arrested a Brookhaven man on various charges of drug possession and intent to sell.
SMNEU agents, Brookhaven police and Lincoln County deputies arrested Ricky Parker, 44, 1074 Highway 550, at his home around 6 p.m. Sunday.
Parker is charged with sale of crack cocaine, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Vanderslice said a search of the house turned up 51.5 grams of crack, about 20 grams of powder cocaine, 15 oxycodone pills, 14.8 grams of Ecstasy, $4,761 in cash and a .25-caliber pistol.
Parker is in the Lincoln County jail today on $50,000 bond.
