District 98 Rep. David Myers, D-McComb, was at Pike County Election Central this morning watching as his a representative for his opponent Tasha Dillon looked over ballot boxes and voter rolls in search of irregularities.
Dillon, who was Myers’ challenger in the Aug. 4 Democratic primary as well as four years ago, has alleged possible irregularities in the voter rolls.
According to certified primary results, Myers received 2,001 votes (52 percent) to Dillon’s 1,858 across the district, which covers Pike and Walthall counties.
In Pike County, Myers received 1,743 votes (53 percent) to Dillon’s 1,545.
Dillon was not present this morning. Pete Perry is conducting the examination on her behalf.
Circuit Clerk Roger Graves, deputy clerk Brenda Williams and election commissioner Trudy Berger were in the building to witness the review of ballot boxes from each of the 19 precincts that the district covers in Pike County.
