A Magnolia man was the victim of a reported carjacking over the weekend.
Chief Deputy Steve Rushing of the Pike County Sheriff’s Department said Rico Haynes, a resident of Albert Lane, told officials that someone took his 1996 Ford Crown Victoria on Gradyville Road.
Haynes told officials he was driving and saw a limb in the road around 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Haynes said he got out of his car to remove the limb and a man came out of the woods with a small-caliber handgun and approached Haynes, who then ran.
The man stole Haynes’ car, which was recovered Sunday at an oil well site on Highway 24.
