Embattled acting McComb Police Chief Greg Martin has been fired by Mayor Zach Patterson, the Enterprise-Journal has learned.
Martin said Patterson fired him this afternoon, but he referred all other questions about his termination to his attorney, John Ott.
Ott said he plans to take legal action on Martin’s behalf on the matter.
McComb selectmen Tuesday night voted 4-1, with one abstention, to reinstate Martin as acting chief. Patterson suspended Martin on May 11 for insubordination after Martin refused to meet with the mayor unless Martin had a witness with him.
