Nourishment for the mind, body and soul is the philosophy of Broma’s Deli, according to co-manager Kayla Bryan.
Broma’s deli, located in Edgewood Mall in McComb and on Hampton Drive in Brookhaven, offers a variety of subs, po-boys, salads, “Jumbo Spuds” and freshly made cakes and pies.
Broma’s has been serving up dishes in McComb for eight years. Donnie Mitchell and Keith White are the business’ owners.
Bryan and her co-manager Leann Stump were both promoted from servers to managers in 2010 and say they love the flexibility of their schedules, the feeling of family and friendship among the employees, and working for the public.
As managers, the pair said they perform jobs from the front to the back of the house and like it best when the line of customers stretches out the door.
“I love the job,” Bryan said. “We are involved in everything from open to close. What puts me in the zone is the rush of people. And there’s a rush in here almost every day.”
“We have several regulars,” Stump said. “We believe they come in again and again because service is number one to us. As soon as they come in we know what they want and how they want it.”
Broma’s offers catering, and desserts are sold by the slice or customer’s can order the whole cake or pie.
Stump and Bryan say they’re favorite meal is the Chicken Philly sandwich. It’s a grilled marinated chicken topped with sauteed peppers and onions and melted provolone cheese for $6.99.
Customers can individualize their meals with Broma’s variety of fresh baked breads which include white, wraps, rolls, loaves, flat breads and more.
Oversized baked potatoes start at $5.99 and are loaded with customers’ choice of cheeses, meat and veggies and are served with real butter and sour cream.
Salads start out at $4.99, and a cup of soup or chili is only $2.99 a cup or $3.99 a bowl.
Through the holidays customers can find coupons in Broma’s ads, such as offers for a dollar off Spuds, a free cookie with the purchase of a meal on Saturday nights and free tea on Wednesday nights with purchase of a meal.
Great last-minute gift buying can be accomplished with a gift card from Broma’s.
“We ask our employees to always greet customers with a smile,” Stump said.
“It all falls back to that family atmosphere we have here. This is like a second family to me, so I have two families.”
