Bond has been set for a McComb woman who was charged Monday with sex crimes for alleged acts involving a 2-year-old boy.
Erica Ann Labruzza, 31, Gillis Circle, is charged with statutory rape, production of child pornography and touching and handling for lustful gratification.
In a hearing in McComb Municipal Court on Tuesday, Judge Danny Smith set her bond at $300,000 — $100,000 for each count.
Labruzza remained in the Pike County jail this morning.
She is set to have a preliminary hearing on July 13.
Police Detective Sid Boyte said a man allegedly discovered a video of Labruzza performing a sex act with the child on a cellphone he had loaned her.
Detective Shannon Sullivan said Labruzza allegedly recorded the act and when the man went to retrieve the phone, Labruzza tried to take it back from him.
That’s when the man opened his phone, found the video and immediately contacted police and turned over the evidence, Sullivan said.
Police aren’t saying how Labruzza and her alleged victim are connected.
Boyte said Labruzza was brought in for questioning and charged. He said in an earlier interview that drugs and alcohol were not a factor in this case.
Boyte said police are still trying to determine if it was an isolated event.
He said Tuesday that the exact date of when the alleged abuse took place is still being determined, but police believe it may have occurred a week or two ago.
