McComb police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a room at the Camellian Motel, 1220 S. Broadway.
Police detective Shannon Sullivan said the body of Bradley O’Keith Barnes, 28, of Tylertown, was found at 2:48 this morning by officers responding to a welfare call about Barnes.
Sullivan said preliminary information from the investigation indicated that Barnes had suffered a gunshot wound.
The wound’s location was not released, pending an autopsy, which police said will determine whether or not the gunshot caused Barnes’ death.
He said police are looking for a woman who was seen earlier in the evening with Barnes for questioning about the death.
According to police reports, dispatchers received a call from an unidentified person who expressed concern about Barnes, who was staying in Room 25 at the Camellian.
Officers found Barnes in the room and were unable to find a pulse, Sullivan said, and they called investigators.
He said the Mississippi Crime Lab, Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and the Walthall County Sheriff’s Department also were called and are participating in the probe.
