Musical groups, choirs and soloists will come together Saturday for a night of song and appreciation for Henry Green, a member of the Williams Brothers gospel group who is recovering from injuries sustained in a February ATV accident.
The event is 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Free Will Baptist Church, 645 Argyle St., McComb.
Green was injured in the accident after the Summit Mardi Gras when he was crossing the railroad tracks on his four-wheeler and didn’t notice an oncoming train.
Police Chief James Isaac said the crossing arms clotheslined Green, knocking him off of the ATV, which kept going and hit the train.
Green sustained neck injuries in the accident.
Bishop Douglas Webster said Green had already been having some neck problems before the incident.
“He couldn’t really turn his head,” he said, adding that the accident made the problem worse.
Green remains hospitalized in Jackson.
Webster said the Lord laid it on his heart to have a night of love and support for Green.
“He has helped a lot of people,” he said. “A lot of people know Henry because he sings with the Williams Brothers.”
He said when he began to reach out to people to help with the program, they said yes without hesitation.
Webster and Minister Lisa Wright will host the event.
Some of the performers include Lillian Lilly of the Mississippi Mass Choir, Castro Coleman and the True Believers, East Fernwood Male Chorus, Rose Hill Male Chorus of Magnolia, the Southern Stars, the Lighthouse Singers, the Williams Family and more.
Donations may made to Henry Green, P.O. Box 321, McComb, MS 39649.
