Many factors play into good health, and many different items and approaches can be used to promote good health.
That’s why Natural Health, on Jackson Avenue in McComb, has a wide variety of products to help people feel better.
One of the best sellers for the year isn’t ingestible, but wearable.
“Crystals and gems, jewelry has been my biggest seller this year,” store owner Katie Quin said. “I’m expanding the collection. This started as a health food store, but it’s expanded into so much more.”
Different gems or minerals are believed to have different properties and different feelings or conditions they act on. The offerings available at Natural Health each come with an information card that explains their use.
Amethyst, for example, is touted as a healing stone, where hematite is good for grounding and goldstone promotes happy thoughts.
Quin also offers plenty of products that act on the environment, not the body.
Singing bowls, for example, can be used in meditation to give something to focus on and gain stress relief.
She also offers a large selection of candles and incense to provide soothing scents around the house.
For direct action on the body, the store carries a wide range of vitamins and minerals, as well as cannabidiol, or CBD, and Delta-8 products, both of which are derived from cannabis.
An increasingly popular item is sea moss, which Quin said provides 90 essential vitamins and minerals.
“It’s good for everything,” she said. “It helps your hair, your skin, your cardiovascular system. It’s kind of a superfood.”
In addition to dried, the moss is available in liquid, capsule and gummy forms.
Quin is a certified holistic health practitioner, so she can point her customers to the best products for their needs.
