The Nation's Weather for Thursday, September 5, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Thunderstorms, some heavy, will spread inland from the Gulf
Coast across the Southeast tomorrow. Repeated rounds of
downpours in Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana can lead to
flooding, especially in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Meanwhile, a cold front will bring thunderstorms from
Wisconsin to the Texas Panhandle. In the northern Plains it
will be turning noticeably cooler with a spotty shower. Dry,
pleasant and sunny weather will continue along the East
coast with temperatures remaining below the historical
averages. On the other side of the nation, an area of high
pressure will continue to promote dry weather and very hot
conditions from Arizona to Washington. Daily record-high
temperatures will continue to be challenged as temperatures
remain well above the historical averages.
