The Nation's Weather for Tuesday, March 19, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
As a cold front finally clears South Florida and the East
Coast, the risk for widespread severe thunderstorms will end
tomorrow. However, snow will continue near and along the
Great Lakes, with locally enhanced snowfall expected for
parts of the region and into the Northeast with a pair of
cold fronts progressing to the east. These fronts will bring
much colder air into the northern Plains and the far
northern High Plains, especially Montana. The Four Corners
region will once again be another center of activity, as a
largely stalled out disturbance continues to produce rain
and snow showers that expand in coverage during the
afternoon hours. The vast majority of the remainder of the
country is expected to remain dry thanks to large areas of
high pressure over the Gulf Coast and the Rockies.
