NATIONAL SUMMARY
Severe thunderstorms will shift farther east tomorrow as a
cold front advances eastward, with the risk for hail and
flooding downpours stretching along the Florida Panhandle
and through points north and east into the Atlanta
metropolitan area and even portions of central South
Carolina. Along the rest of the cold front, a drenching rain
can be expected through the mid-Atlantic, arriving in cities
such as New York and Albany by day's end. Snow will mix in
with the rain at times from Maryland and West Virginia
through parts of Pennsylvania and New York state. To the
west, areas of rain and snow will blanket much of the Great
Lakes region, with showers also developing in eastern
Minnesota and the western Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Rain
also reaches northwestern Washington late.
