The Nation's Weather for Saturday, July 8, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A large swath of severe weather is expected from the High
Plains to the Tennessee Valley tomorrow. Flash flooding and
damaging winds will be possible with any of the storms, but
hail will also be possible in Wyoming, Colorado and the
western portions of the Oklahoma and Texas panhandles. A bit
farther west, dry and breezy conditions will lead to an
elevated fire risk in the Four Corners region. In the
central and South Florida Peninsula, a plume of Saharan dust
will cause the sky to be hazy. Elsewhere, afternoon and
evening thunderstorms will dot much of the Southeast and the
northern Rockies. In New England, the afternoon
thunderstorms may be a bit more widespread. Excessive heat
will continue to bake the Desert Southwest. The warmth will
begin to expand northward into the interior Northwest.
