NATIONAL SUMMARY
Thunderstorms capable of producing flooding downpours, hail
and damaging wind gusts will rumble in eastern Missouri,
northeastern Arkansas, southern Illinois, southern Indiana,
southwestern Ohio, western West Virginia and Kentucky and
Tennessee tomorrow. Non-severe thunderstorms will occur
farther to the northeast, and some improvement in air
quality is expected over the interior Northeast with less
wildfire smoke. The hottest weather since last summer will
bake the valleys of California, with temperatures also above
the historical average in much of the Desert Southwest.
Warmth will extend into the interior Northwest, but coastal
locations should have temperatures near the historical
average. While Texas will not be as hot, extreme heat will
continue farther east across the South.
