NATIONAL SUMMARY
Nicole is expected to strengthen as it continues toward the
eastern coast of Florida tomorrow. It should become a
hurricane during the day. Winds will remain quite strong and
extend far to the north of the center of the storm. This
will lead to some coastal flooding and beach erosion through
Florida into Georgia. Rain and wind will also increase
across South and central Florida throughout the day.
Meanwhile, another powerful storm will be moving through the
northern Rockies. There will be snow throughout the
mountains and rain developing in some lower elevations. Snow
in the mountains could reach up to a foot. Rain will also
develop ahead of this system through the northern Plains
from South Dakota to Wisconsin. Much of the eastern United
States will be quiet with sunshine.
