The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, September 1, 2021
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Tropical Rainstorm Ida will unleash drenching rainfall
across portions of the mid-Atlantic and Northeast tomorrow
as it continues its journey to the Atlantic coast. Heavy
rainfall falling in a relatively short period of time will
likely heighten flash flooding concerns across the two
regions. Humid conditions will remain in place across the
Southeast with thunderstorms continuing along the Gulf
coast. Strong-to-severe thunderstorms will fire up later in
the day for portions of the Dakotas. The Southwest will be
another target for increased thunderstorm activity as
moisture from Tropical Rainstorm Nora pushes into the
region. Flash flooding will be possible where any heavier
thunderstorms persist.
