The Nation's Weather for Friday, June 17, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Morning thunderstorms that can produce hail and damaging
winds will rumble through southern portions of Illinois and
Indiana, western and central Kentucky and central and
eastern Tennessee tomorrow. These storms will continue
southward and eastward in the afternoon. While heavy rain
can still fall in northern Georgia and the western
Carolinas, the thunderstorms should lose some of their
intensity. A few afternoon thunderstorms are also likely in
coastal New England, with spottier activity from eastern
Pennsylvania and New Jersey southward to coastal Georgia.
Farther west, monsoonal moisture will help afternoon
thunderstorms to develop in the central and southern
Rockies. Meanwhile, cold air in the upper atmosphere can
spark thundershowers in portions of Washington and Oregon.
