NATIONAL SUMMARY
A few showers are likely to dampen much of New England
tomorrow. Meanwhile, a zone of mainly spotty thunderstorms
will stretch from the coastal Carolinas to the Gulf Coast
and then northwestward into the Texas Panhandle. Just to the
west, a few late-afternoon thunderstorms could be strong
from southwestern South Dakota through western Nebraska,
eastern Colorado and eastern New Mexico. Rain showers are
expected in Washington, northeastern Oregon, Idaho and
western and southern Montana. A tropical rainstorm will move
from just west of Cuba into the southeastern Gulf of Mexico.
This system is forecast to travel toward Florida, bringing
heavy rainfall that can lead to flooding in South Florida.
The rainstorm may make landfall in Florida as a tropical
depression or storm by this weekend.
