NATIONAL SUMMARY
A steady rain will soak Vermont, New Hampshire and northern
and eastern New York tomorrow. This rain will expand into
western and northern Maine by the afternoon. At the highest
elevations, the rain may mix with or even change to snow.
Elsewhere in the region, precipitation will not be as
steady, but widespread showers are expected as far south as
Maryland. Farther west, snowflakes can mix in with the rain
in southern Michigan, northern Indiana, northern and central
Ohio, western Pennsylvania and southwestern New York. Snow
showers can blanket the West Virginia mountains with an inch
or two of snow on grassy surfaces. In the West, a bit of
rain is expected in Washington and Oregon with some snow in
the Cascades. Warmth will continue in California, but
temperatures will not be quite as high as recent days.
