NATIONAL SUMMARY
A potent storm will be shifting toward the East Coast
tomorrow, bringing a soaking rain from New York state and
interior New England, southward to eastern Pennsylvania and
New Jersey. Some of the rain may be heavy enough to cause
ponding on roadways. Farther south, thunderstorms may
contain isolated damaging winds in eastern Virginia and the
eastern Carolinas. Snow across northern Minnesota, northern
Wisconsin and the western Upper Peninsula of Michigan can
accumulate several inches, especially on non-paved surfaces.
Elsewhere across Minnesota, Wisconsin, the eastern Dakotas,
Iowa and northern Lower Michigan, a mixture of rain and snow
is expected. Rain showers are forecast in Missouri,
Illinois, Indiana, southern Michigan and Ohio. Near-record
heat is likely in portions of California.
