The Nation's Weather for Thursday, September 12, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Francine will deliver flooding rain and isolated tornadoes
to south-central Tennessee, eastern Mississippi, much of
Alabama, southwestern Georgia and the Florida Panhandle
tomorrow. Tornadoes are not expected in central and eastern
Arkansas, northeastern Alabama and western portions of
Tennessee and Mississippi, but rain could still be heavy
enough to cause flooding. In the wake of the storm,
residents will need to stay cool and well hydrated during
cleanup efforts in central and southern Louisiana.
Elsewhere, a storm will bring showers and embedded
thunderstorms to much of Montana. In the highest elevations,
some snow could even mix in with the rain. Gusty winds, low
humidity and dry brush will result in a high fire threat
from southwestern North Dakota to eastern Colorado.
