Veteran North Pike linebacker Jakobe Barnes made it official Friday, as the senior signed to further his playing career at Mississippi Delta C.C. next fall.
The multi-year starter was a standout on the Jaguars' defense, racking up 238 total tackles, 23 tackles for loss, eight sacks, four pass breakups and a pair of fumble recoveries throughout his time in Summit.
And Barnes truly shined as a senior, as he led the team with 123 total tackles and 15 tackles for loss.
On top of all that, North Pike even used the dynamic athlete on offense at times. He finished his career with 249 passing yards, 652 rushing yards and five touchdowns, and there were plenty of games in which Barnes rarely left the field.
