HOW TO SPEND THE RELIEF MONEY:
I hope the McComb city board looks at the bigger issues facing this town with the $3 million in relief money. Spend it on the water and sewer lines that are deteriorating beneath the streets of McComb. Spend it on the drainage problems that McComb has. Spend it on the potholes that are all over the city. The more money that they spend on these, the better our city will be.
WHAT MUST OTHERS THINK?
I am totally ashamed and embarrassed about the trash along our roadways! What must people from other states think when they ride through southwest Mississippi? It’s hard to comprehend that folks have no pride in our state and are willing to throw their garbage anywhere. Seems as if the supervisors could use that project for the stimulus relief funds since it certainly looks like a sewer.
WHERE TO REPORT LITTER PROBLEMS?
“Take Action, Report Litter and Illegal Dumps,” says the small notice in the paper. You will get a recording to leave your name and number, and they will call you back. I have been calling 601-249-4694 for two months. No call back yet. Is there another number we can use?
WHO WILL CONTROL THIS PRODUCT?
If it’s medical marijuana, should not it be prescribed by a real doctor, dispensed at a real pharmacy by a real pharmacist, manufactured by a real pharmaceutical company and regulated by the FDA and the State Board of Pharmacy?
MANY QUESTIONS ABOUT LITTER:
I saw the comment on Jan. 13 about litter reporting and no call-back when the gentleman called. Who is or who isn’t doing what? That’s a concern of mine and many others too. Please write an article telling us exactly what is being done about the trash problem on county roads and who exactly is or is not enforcing the litter laws. Please tell us the numbers of littering charges filed last year and who filed them. Tell everyone the number of illegal dumps being cleaned up, and by whom. The issue interests everyone but is rarely talked about in detail. Give us the scoop with numbers. Someone needs to take responsibility.
