ATTENTION McCOMB VOTERS
Candidates are qualifying for selectman and mayor. Now is the time for voters to ask questions and express expectations in writing — letters, emails, newspapers. This writer expects office holders to attend all regular board meetings, not over phone or Zoom; and to stop this constant childish bickering. Before you vote for a candidate you should tell them what you expect in their behavior and their vote.
THE ISIS DISTRACTION
The two previous presidents and the current president have attempted to distract citizens from their incompetent leadership by killing an ISIS leader. There is always collateral damage, but each of the presidents proudly take credit for being decisive. Where was decisive leadership withdrawing troops from Afghanistan, addressing inflations, uniting a fragmented country, addressing the rising crime rate?
CREATIVITY AND RECREATION IN SUMMIT
Congratulations to ARC founder and director Kayla Walker for following her dream and bringing much-needed creativity and recreation to Summit for adults and children. Now is the time for our town council to start talking about parks and recreation for our children if Summit is ever going to move forward and out of the Stone Age. The citizens deserve that much.
BEST AZALEA BALL EVER
I have attended the Azalea Ball for 50 years. This year’s was the best yet. The McComb Mill is a good venue, the band wasn’t too loud so we could visit and have a conversation, the food was good, and the selections of the king and queen were fantastic. They were truly deserving of their recognition. What a privilege to support the McComb Junior Auxiliary and their projects. Keep up the good work.
