Southwest offensive lineman Antwone Breland (6’ 6”, 298, Hattiesburg) has been named All-MACCC South for the 2025 season while linebacker BJ Mitchell (6’, 210, Hattiesburg) received 2nd Team honors.
Mitchell ended the 2025 campaign with a team-high 84 total tackles with four for loss, as well as one sack.
Named All-MACCC South Honorable Mention were sophomore running back Chris Hunter (6’, 205, Canton), freshman tight end Phillip Burchfield (6’ 3”, 240, Clinton), freshman offensive lineman Jamarius McCann (6’ 3”, 334, Gulfport), sophomore defensive lineman Andrew Washburn (6’ 4”, 277, Mooresville, NC), sophomore defensive back Gary Bailey (5’ 11”, 175, Natchez).
Bailey just recently announced his commitment to further his career at Grambling State.
From the Bear soccer team, Southwest freshman midfielder Ilan Marin has been named an MACCC All-Conference Honorable Mention. A native of Villette d’anthon, France, Marin had a team-high 10 goals and 27 points. He also tied for the team lead with 7 assists.
