Man injured in fall from railroad bridge

A man working to locate utilities was injured after he fell from a railroad bridge and into a creek in McComb on Tuesday morning.
Fire officials at the scene said the man was walking along the railroad tracks when he fell in a gap between cross ties some 15-20 feet into Town Creek, located between Lenoir Sellers and South Yard Road.

But the property appears to have space for plenty of parked cars. It's one of many locations in Pike County that might make a decent driver's license office to replace the one that closed in Summit, reportedly for lack of parking. Just a thought.

Bird flu detected on Amite County chicken farm

Avian influenza has been detected in a flock of broiler chickens on an Amite County farm.
The Mississippi Board of Animal Health confirmed Wednesday that it had been notified by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Veterinary Services Laboratory of the infection on the commercial chicken farm.
