More candidates have qualified for office in McComb, leaving fewer seats contested and a crowded field vying for mayor.
The latest list from city hall lists the following candidates:
Mayor: Quordiniah Lockley (i), Bruce Mullins, David Stewart, Lynn Martin, Trischell Veal and David Myers.
Selectman at-large: Tabitha Felder Isaac (i) and Shaun Thompson.
Ward 1: Tommy McKenzie (i).
Ward 2: Matt Codding (i) and Tiffany Gordon.
Ward 3: Terri Waterman Baylor (i) and Devante Johnson.
Ward 4: Eddie Thompson (i) and Dorothy Robinson.
Ward 5: Ronnie Brock and Kizzy Coney.
The list did not include party affiliations.
Codding and McKenzie were the only candidates to previously confirm they were running as Republicans.
Lockley and Mullins have said they’re running as Democrats. Martin, Veal and Myers have previously either held or run for office as Democrats.
Thompson and Isaac both said they’re running as Democrats, as are Baylor, Johnson, Thompson and Coney.
The deadline to qualify is 5 p.m. Friday.
Party primaries are May 5. A runoff, if needed, will be held April 19. The general election is June 16.
