Guy’s Pharmacy in Summit offers more than medicine, including gifts for every occasion, and the pharmacist in charge, Tara Dupree, loves their selection of gifts they have for sale this Christmas.
“We have Mississippi candles and soaps, local honey and cutting boards,” she said. “The boards are only $35 and are made by Pike County Supervisor Robert Accardo.”
The gifts are displayed decoratively throughout the store, along with a Christmas tree that adorned ornaments that are also for sale.
“Everything is displayed nicely on top of the shelves and along the back wall,” she said. “I think it really stands out.”
Summit pharmacy is one of Keith Guy’s five retail pharmacies across Southwest Mississippi, offering compound and functional medicine.
Summit’s location includes Any Lab Test Now, which offers 8,000 different lab tests and — as Guy calls it — “who’s the daddy” DNA testing, which is less expensive than DNA testing at the hospital.
Guy splits his time between the five pharmacies, but spends most of his time at the McComb location, where his compounding lab is located, enabling him to create medication tailored to the needs of individual patients.
Dupree said Guy has put trustworthy people in positions to help him run things efficiently.
“Keith trusts us to keep an eye on things,” she said. “We are here to help, and it’s nice to know that he can rely on us to get things done.”
Guy’s trust extends not only to his employees, but to his robot pill packager he calls Patrick.
“He puts the pills in little packages with the time to take them,” Dupree said.
Guy has also added Simply Well nurse practitioner Debbie Zachary to Guy’s Pharmacy of Summit, and is renting an office space inside the Tylertown location to Simply Well nurse practitioner Joelle Magee.“Debbie is available Monday to Thursdays 8 to 5 p.m,” Dupree said.
