As the high school football season quickly approaches, eyes from around the country are on Pike County's teams.
McComb senior Broderick "Bam" Peters, a transfer from Hammond and current Southern Miss commit, was recently voted the state's top returning tight end in the Clarion Ledger's public poll.
Peters received 1,590 votes (40%), while South Pike's Zarkevion Brown was not far behind at 273 (7%).
Meanwhile, MaxPreps released its nationwide predictions for who it believes will win titles in each state. And in Mississippi, the leading high school sports organization picked Parklane to win the MAIS D-II bracket this fall.
