The Mississippi Association of Players has begun to unveil a weekly ranking of the Top 25 football players in Mississippi, and McComb wide receiver/defensive back Sheldon Isaac is ranked No. 10 on the initial list.
The junior who holds offers from the likes of Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Tennessee and Vanderbilt is fresh off a stellar performance against Brookhaven in which he recorded a pick-six and multiple clutch receptions.
Poplarville running back Ty Keys, who will face Isaac and the Tigers next Friday, is ranked as the No. 1 overall player in the state.
The Enterprise-Journal is one of over a dozen media outlets that vote on these weekly rankings, and players are listed regardless of age, classification or public/private affiliations.
Following Friday's games, each media company submits their Top 25 players in the state, with the various news outlets giving some preference to their local athletes while also still adhering to a state-wide ranking.
The Association of Players then compiles the lists and comes up with an overall ranking that finds a balance among the various submissions.
