McComb Mayor Quordiniah Lockley presented Parklane Academy alum and current Texas Tech Red Raider Alana Johnson with a proclamation from the city Wednesday.
Johnson earned the honor after she and TTU made a run to the College World Series Finals this year, ultimately falling to Texas in a best-of-three series.
A versatile player for the Lady Red Raiders, Johnson was a key member of the squad as it cruised through the Big 12 and regional action on its way to Oklahoma City.
Following her postseason run in June, the EJ produced a feature on Johnson's journey from Pike County to the top.
The senior will now return for her final season of college softball as Texas Tech looks to finish the job with a National Championship in 2026.
