JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Plans for a state park in Mississippi include an adventure trail and a bridge that would connect four museums.
The details were included in a master plan announced Tuesday for LeFleur’s Bluff in Jackson, WAPT-TV reported.
Plans also call for an outdoor pavilion and development of Otter Creek Golf Park.
The Mississippi Legislature appropriated $13.2 million toward the project.
“This is part of building our culture, to have a place where our men and women and our children will come back and want to live here,” Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann said.
WLBT-TV reported the Mississippi Children’s Museum and the Mississippi Natural Science Museum are collaborating on this project. The Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum and the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame & Museum are also nearby.
“This is going to transform this region and attract people to the area," said House Speaker Philip Gunn.
