Authorities have cleared the Summit convenience store where a man was thought to be hiding in the ceiling.
After over an hour of searching, Pike County sheriff’s officials along with Summit police and other law enforcement, who responded to the Blue Sky convenience store late Thursday morning, informed the store manager they believed whoever had been in the ceiling must have left.
Sheriff's officials found footprints on the toilet and bathroom wall leading up to a hole in the ceiling caused by a ceiling tile having been removed. They believe this indicates that someone did enter the ceiling, but after his department searched manually and with a small drone Sheriff Wally Jones said that he is 99% sure that the person must have left unseen.
The sheriff's department removed ceiling tiles and insulation throughout the store which they offered to put back, but they were told to leave it as is by the store manager.
