Jail repairs approved in split vote

Pike County supervisors agreed in a split vote Tuesday to proceed with renovations to showers at the Pike County jail in order to address a problem that has repeatedly been cited in lawsuits against the county.

Easter sunrise service set

Mission Pike County will hold its Easter Sunrise service, an interdenominational and interracial gathering to celebrate the Resurrection of Christ, from 7:30-8:30 a.m. Sunday at the Bo Diddley Pavilion in McComb. Guest speakers are the Rev. Anthony Coleman, Lee Anna Woodcock and Sara Hodges.

Burn ban stays lifted for now

Pike County supervisors agreed to keep the burn ban lifted following a brief discussion Tuesday.
Supervisor Justin Lofton suggested reintroducing the ban that went into effect a few weeks ago and was recently lifted after some rainfall.
