Multiple people were injured in a shooting Thursday night that produced no arrests as of Friday morning police said.
Around 10 p.m. Thursday on the 1100 block of Nelson Avenue, injuring “several” people, according to Detective Sgt. Delre Smith. He said no injuries were life-threatening and the wounded were transported to Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.
Officials would not release exact number of victims and their identities for their safety.
There were no arrests as of Friday morning, but Smith said the investigation is ramping up, with much of the details needing to be further hashed out including motives.
Law enforcement officials said more information would be available at a later date
In recent arrests:
• Joshua Gonzales, 21, of McComb was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia and the sale or transfer of a stolen firearm by the Mississippi Highway Patrol Wednesday.
Patrick F. Wibright, 32, of Summit, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia by the MHP Wednesday
• Thomas Andrew Price, 36, of Summit was charged with eluding police in a motor vehicle and reckless driving by the Pike County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday.
