McComb Selectman Shawn Williams is changing course and running for mayor, city officials confirmed Thursday.
Williams, in his first term as Ward 4 selectman, had initially filed to run for the selectman at-large seat, but changed his qualifying to run for mayor.
Williams is the fourth candidate who filed to run for the office.
Incumbent Quordiniah Lockley, Selectman at-large Donovan Hill and Trischell Veal are the other candidates.
The qualifying deadline is March 1, primaries are May 3 and runoffs, if needed, are May 17. The general election is June 21.
All of the candidates who have qualified for office so far are running as Democrats.

• Bruce Mullins, Ward 5 selectman.
