Four seats in government, including the mayor for the next four years, will be determined in the McComb general election today.
Incumbent Quordiniah Lockley is the Democratic nominee and seeking his second term in office. Lockley will be going against independent Michael Cameron, who has served the past 12 years as Ward 2’s Republican selectman.
Lockley and Cameron are the two candidates listed on the ballot for the mayor’s seat.
Democratic nominee Tabitha Felder-Isaac is running against Republican nominee Julius “Jay” DeSoto for the selectman-at-large seat.
Democrat Lynn Martin is going against Republican Matt Codding for the Ward 2 selectperson seat.
Republican Tommy McKenzie, Democrat Ed Silence and independents Jay Wilson and David Stewart are running for the Ward 1 selectman seat.
Three of the seats on the incoming board are already settled.
Terri Waterman-Baylor will be the next Ward 3 selectwoman, John Bates is the next Ward 4 selectman and Bruce Mullins will serve Ward 5. All three are Democrats.
The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Polling places include:
• Ward 1 — National Guard Armory, 319 West Ave. North.
• Ward 2 — Storehouse Church, 529 Minnesota Ave.
• Ward 3 — New Hope Baptist Church, 515 N. Locust St.
• Ward 4 — Lifepointe Church of the Nazarene, 312 W. Presley Blvd.
• Ward 5 — Martin Luther King Center, 601 Martin Luther King Dr
