We have a wonderful outreach ministry at Dexter Pentecostal Church called Daughters of Zion.
For a couple of years now, a former drug addict and her former drug addict husband have opened their hearts and home to young women who are trying to climb out of the abyss they once dwelt in.
They now have a building where they can stay and be ministered to, a shelter if you please.
It is where they are not looked down on but loved and taught the good life. Without fail, these young ladies cling to a second chance like a drowning person would a life preserver tossed to them.
Some wear police ankle bracelets as they are out of jail on probation and all are scarred by sin.
They have a choice to just remain at the shelter or attend all our services out at Dexter on their own volition, and without fail they come to every one, even on Wednesday. All can be found around the altars worshiping and praising their Lord for redemption.
They have a curriculum they enroll in. When it’s successfully completed, they are awarded a certificate as any college would do, and upon release from the law go on to live productive lives.
Hats off today to Tosha and Mark McRaney.
