On Friday, April 4th, I had auto problems and was able to limp into a gas station in Summit. Five different people asked if they could help.
One took off a busted water hose and took it and me to McComb to an auto parts store.
We returned and he installed the new hose and waited with me for a long time to let the engine cool down as we poured water into the engine.
The gentleman’s name is Joe Evans and he, along with the other good folks of the area that offered their assistance, I now refer to as “The Summit Saints.”
They all are examples of the good side of mankind. I am grateful to all of them.

Homeless for 33 days
I have been homeless for 33 days. I have been on a Housing Authority banned list. A lady talked to them about taking me off the banned list, because she saw a change in me. I love you, Mrs. Edna.
I was at the doctor. A lady called and said they had me an apartment. It was in the old projects. I turned it down because it’s nothing but shooting and drug dealers up there, and I can’t walk up stairs.
My knee went out and I got a shot in it. The doctor gave me a letter that said I can’t climb stairs.
So not to keep sleeping in my truck, I went to crying, cause I’m tired of sleeping in this truck. So the doctor had to inject me again. He sent another letter saying I can’t climb stairs.
Y’all, this has been wearing on me. I’ve been praying, crying, not eating. I don’t have anything to eat some days.
They said a place might be for two or three months because I’m approved for an emergency.
My past is my past, and people change if God forgives. I know He can.
Mrs. Edna is the only one trying to help. God’s got her, and He doesn’t sleep.
Right is right, I’m tired of fighting with these godly people. They work with the public, but they pick and choose who they’re going to give someplace to stay.
I know a lot and see a lot. They help who they want to help, and I’m tired.
