Parklane's girls basketball team has reached the 4A South-State Championship Game, as the Lady Pioneers upended top-seeded Jackson Prep by a score of 47-36 in Thursday's semifinals.
With the tournament being held at Copiah Academy, Parklane began its postseason run by cruising to a 68-43 win over Silliman Institute on Tuesday.
Then, senior guard Zoe Alford poured in 18 points (seven in the fourth quarter) against Prep to usher her team to the title bout.
There, the Lady Pioneers will face Simpson Academy for the third time this season, as the Lady Cougars also upset a top seed in Madison-Ridgeland Academy to reach this point.
The teams split their meetings this season, with Simpson winning 51-40 at home before Parklane took a 69-53 result in the return trip.
The championship game is set for a 1:30 p.m. tip-off Saturday from Copiah Academy.
