Braving the elements to face Laurel in another district contest, North Pike’s softball team cruised to a 21-0 run-rule win Thursday in Summit.
After they beat the Golden Tornadoes 31-2 in the teams’ first meeting, the Lady Jags (9-13, 6-2) nearly mirrored that performance this time around.
It’s also worth noting that this was the program’s first week back playing at its home stadium after storms in early March caused heavy damage to the facility.
Sonya Wallace’s team had previously cruised to a 15-2 win over Brookhaven on Tuesday, which means that it has now played just four games in Summit this year.
Up next, the Lady Jaguars will continue their lengthy homestand when they welcome South Jones for another district contest Tuesday, with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m.
