The anticipation for new head coach Les George's first year at the helm is building, and the Southwest Mississippi C.C. football program recently revealed its schedule for the upcoming campaign.
The Bears will open their season on the road against Holmes on Thursday, Aug. 28.
A two-game home stand follows, with SMCC welcoming Northeast Mississippi and Pearl River in back-to-back weeks during early September.
The first of the Bears' two Saturday games will then take place on Sept. 20 when they travel to face Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Arch rivals Co-Lin then make their way down to Summit for a Thursday game on Sept. 25, and Southwest has a bye week following that quick turnaround.
The home stretch of the schedule features three of four games on the road. The Bears will travel to take on Northwest and Hinds before they host Jones for Homecoming on Oct. 25.
The season finale will take place on Oct. 30 against East Central in Decatur.
